Final Submission - GNML #10

Reflection

I still could not believe this is the final session of this awesome wonderful amazing GNML campaign project. Well, but it doesn't mean this is the end of our projects campaign, because this is actually the beginning of making a change and impact in our community! So stop talking the problems and start helping to solve it in the real life! The most rewarding experience of 10 session GNML Online program for me is the session that we have to choose one problem from many problems in my home country. I think the most challenging experience is my ambition to complete each session on time. I have learned many things from each session, but the most importan one is realizing how powerful social media is for this campaign project.

From reading and reflecting on each article that connected to my project, I have learned a lot of new perceptions. RSS and the google alerts had been really helpful for me to connect to other web sites that relevant with my topics. I do realize that this problem is not my concern only. Unsolved traffic jams issue that has been happening seen long time ago until today is disturbing our daily activity and makes us spending hours on the road every single day.

Campaign Final Reflection

Blogger : this social media is pretty awesome. We can post a lot of stuffs in our blog. Well it depends what the user gonna do with their blog it can be diary, journal, daily activity, organization, advertising something, or to campaign a wonderful project like GNML do.

Twitter : Twitter is another powerful social media. A lot teenager use this social media. It goes really fast, everyone tweeting many stuffs in every second. It's not really like facebook with the timeline and many spammers but well kinda the same.. wait, what I'm talking about? Anyway, to be honest twitter is one of the social media that my parent never ruined it, because so far they do not have one, so it's pretty cool! I love twitter, and it's a great idea to use this platform as a campaign project to reach the teenagers!

YouTube : The largest live streaming video around the world. And everyone can access it easily, watch everything freely, and it's really helpful by to promotes the project by using elevator pitch tips! I also love making video, editting and stuffs, so it's a good one to share the video and got lot viewers :D

Facebook : I would say, this social media is the giant one. This social media is so important to reaching the society because in fact, almost everyone in the world have a facebook account. We can find someone, look the pictures, knowing what they do, saw ther profire easily. Just type the name, click search, and boom.

Instagram : I think this social media will be the king in this year 2014. Most people like to see the pictures, flattering each other, get a lot of likes and comments, teenagers love this.  it's kinda easy, just scroll your smartphone, see your friends pictures, or posting your daily activity, your school, your life, or even just your selfie picture with the filter on it to make it look prettier, and tadaa you got 100 likes!

LinkedIn : This social media is incredible! Not really like twitter or instagram that full of teenagers probs, but this social media is more like professional one. This social media is an amazing invention, because it really helpful to grow your connection, gain more links, get jobs, and connect to your friends, promotes your skills, profile, awards, to show off yourself, lets people saw you as an amazing wonderful awesome person.. But in the good way! ;)

Solve The Traffic Jam NOW!

Well as we know that traffic jam still cannot be solved by the government until now, we can't just depend on the government to improve the public transportation. I'm mean that is true, it will become the major solutions, but it's already happening now the government try to improve the quality and the amount of public transportation, but this problem still unsolved.

As what the gnml online expect, at session 4, I've found three good website which is really connect and relevant with my social campaign topic. Here's one of them http://www.beritajakarta.com/2008/en/newsview.aspx?id=15925&idwil=0

so, basically what that website try to explain that we cannot only depend on government role. it says " Therefore, the city needs three synergistic efforts that should be done all together. They are mass transportation development, new road infrastructure and private motor vehicles tackling"

I do really agree with that statement. We need to increase the citizens awareness by try to minimize using the private vehicles, so it will decrease the traffic jam in Jakarta, while the government keep improving the public transportations that make both side work together to solve our problem now.

My “social media for social change” campaign! - Stop Traffic Jam in Jakarta!

In my home country especially in the capital city Jakarta where I’m from, traffic jam is a daily problem that I have to face everytime and everywhere. It is a sad reality that we as the Jakarta commuters have to be used to spending hours on the road every single day. It’s very hard to move fast from one place to another place in Jakarta or its suburbs. The place that we can reach in 15 minutes only, we usually spend an hour until two hours or more. It always takes too long than it should be.

Well in my opinions this traffic jams happen and never solved until now because of some factors. There too many busses, motorcycles, cars, and another private vehicles on the road. Yes indeed, almost every head of the family has a personal vehicle. But this entire can we reduce if we as the society start to use the public transportations to move around. And I think the government also have to make a comfortable public transportation so it will make people prefer not use their own vehicles.

My positive outcomes for this traffic jam issue campaign are decreasing the traffic jams, by increasing the society awareness to not using their own vehicles, and start helping by using the public transportations.

My audiences for this social issue campaign are all the society and the government. It’s not only for Jakarta, but also another city to start help solve this issue for the better future for our country

my simple and powerful message for my campaign is:

“Minimize The Vehicle, Maximize The Public Transportation, Cancel The Traffic Jam” :D
